Like all purchases and investments, research is key. This means to find companies that not only advertise well, but have good reviews and are within reach of your area. Many times you can find a company that accommodates your requirements, but if not filtered through location and accuracy, you can be met with groups that are unable to take on your project or cannot meet every need that you present.
Interview more than one company before you make your decision who to hire. Take your time and compare the companies’ rates and terms. You may wish to obtain a recommendation from a realtor, banker, or other trusted source. (2)
This research should include inquiries to budget, all aspects of the sale included with their services, and scheduling. It can be a challenging time for the family when people pass, so finding a company that is sensitive to any preferences is important. This allows for the family to know that the possessions of their loved one will not be discarded, but handled with the care that they wish for it to be.
Outside of the interview process, make sure to check reviews online and on surrounding websites for verification of services and quality. The only time too much research is made is when two or more companies are of the same quality and the decision lies solely in your hands!
